The power to alter and improve the world exists in those who are regarded as exceptional leaders. I will be addressing various leadership aspects that I have acquired during this semester in my paper. I'll also emphasize some of the main ideas, such as change management principles, research models, styles of leadership, and several other leadership concepts. I'm going to discuss some of these ideas concerning the experiences I've had in various contexts. I will also give a leadership improvement strategy highlighting crucial components that will aid in successful leadership.

Principles of Leadership

When Kouzes and Posner (2017) first started their research on leadership styles, it proved that these methods have been powerful for quite a while and that they are still applicable in the present circumstances. I gained extensive knowledge of the road to becoming a successful organizational leader in the world during the eight-week leadership course that centered on the sixth edition of "The Leadership Challenge: How to Make Extraordinary Things Happen in Organizations" by James Kouzes and Barry Posner. At that specific hotel, my fellow interns and I were working together. While I think I perform efficiently when challenged and have a rapid learning curve, my fellow interns were concerned about the new obstacles that would be presented to them. Instead of engaging in a competitive relationship with them, I chose to assist them and ensure that everyone knew the procedure.

Inspire a Shared Vision -

Gaining clarity on our optimum vision so that we may effectively articulate it to others.

Recognize the long-term goals of individuals along with how joining our vision could aid them to realize their objectives (Mugavin, 2023).

For my first discussion topic, I looked into the case of Tamika Palmer, who participated in a Black Lives Matter rally and called for justice for her daughter Breonna Taylor, who was slain by police. I admire Palmer's bravery in speaking out against the broken system, which encouraged others to fight unfairness and stop it from occurring repeatedly with innocent lives. I truly believe she motivated others with a drive to improve and secure the community.

Through his peaceful revolt, Gandhi enabled every Indian to advocate for their rights without resorting to acts of violence and to oppose prejudice based on race, and he enabled our nation to end British rule. He attempted to fully comprehend his fellow citizens, and as a result, when he addressed big audiences in the setting, it felt as though he was addressing each person specifically (Bapu - Leader of Leaders | Articles on and by Gandhi, n.d.). Numerous individuals including myself continue to look forward to his legacy as one of the greatest figures in history who enable others to act in harmonious and peaceful ways.

I was an intern at a five-star business hotel where I worked 12 to 14-hour long shifts. It was quite draining, and by the end of the day, I began to question my decision to pursue a career in hotel management. The hotel frequently used to mistreat interns and claim credit for our arduous efforts. I wasn't motivated to continue, but both my parents were there for me every step of the way and encouraged me to refrain from giving up. I made a choice to never treat other students with the same level of disrespect that I had received. As soon as I began working as a staff member for the same hotel, I made sure to support each intern and show my appreciation for their efforts. I addressed the higher management concerning the conflicts in the organization and I additionally suggested that they have a little recognition event after each apprenticeship season. After my suggestion was implemented, students began taking pleasure in their time working with our organization.

Leading is a Quality, rather than a Designation: A partnership between people who desire to take control of the masses and the individuals who decide which paths to pursue that guidance is known as leadership. The essential indicator for accomplishment in leadership, enterprise, and existence is the level of solidarity between the group of people that the leader directs (Hughes et al., 2005). This is a look at how individuals interact and have fun while embracing and showcasing the uniqueness and brilliance of every person. The ability to build and maintain interpersonal relationships which allow individuals to attain incredible achievements via exceptional collaboration is a prerequisite for effective leadership (Gander et al., 2020).

Reservations about Leadership: Provided the motivation to yearn for, put into action, and implement it throughout everyday activities, whoever may become accustomed to a clear set of leadership expertise and competencies. I started working in the tourism and hospitality sectors six years ago as an intern in the hotel sector. I progressively advanced to become a Senior Executive in the Guest Service department of the front desk for the company. I will refrain from incorporating a hazy and indistinct view of the company's objectives I'm assigned to work with. I'll discover a clearer sense of my particular ideas. 3. By focusing my speech and behavior on practical ideas, I simply intend to speak ideas that are reasonable and doable. As a leader, my main goal will be to serve as an example by matching my conduct to my deeds. 4. I'm going to look to earn chances, picture possible outcomes, and then convey perspective to the people I collaborate with. 5. I am not going to be reluctant to try odds that might result in better outcomes for myself, my colleagues, and my company as a whole. 6. I will frequently interact with every person on my team individually to hone my active listening while offering recommendations. 7. To build an environment of acquiring knowledge and experimenting, I would constantly be positive about the likelihood of upcoming upheaval, leading with a growth-oriented attitude, and motivate colleagues to risk possibilities and gain knowledge from their failures. 8. I will always attempt to treat everybody in the workforce like extended family by staying emotionally active and truly supportive of the efforts those around me contribute to the success of the company.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I have a greater grasp of the abilities and practices required to be a successful leader attributable to the information I gained during the course of study and my experience working in the hospitality industry. The Five Exemplary Leadership Practices I identified include modeling the way, inspiring a shared goal, challenging the process, empowering people to act, and encouraging the heart. I've also developed a strategy to improve my leadership style that includes honing my interpersonal abilities, concentrating my speech and behavior on beneficial concepts, visualizing potential results, communicating with colleagues, addressing everyone like family, and maintaining emotional motion. Success in leadership, business, and life all depends on leadership quality, which is not a label. Using these abilities and techniques at my disposal, I am certain that I have the confidence to take the initiative and lead in my future endeavors.
