I have updated this question with all the necessary documents needed to answer the question. Here is the question, Information & blank 941 below. Thank you!
1. Form 941, Employers Quarterly Federal Tax Return. Use the total Quarterly numbers in the Payroll Report. The final wages paid to Virginia Russel and the Simple Plan total need to be deducted from the Line 2 total wages. Line 3 is the total quarterly FIT amount withheld. Line 5a wages are total quarterly wages paid less the amount paid to Joseph O'Neill in excess of the $113,700 cap on Social Security wages. While Line 5c is total quarterly wages. To calculate the Line 16 amounts, review the General Journal report for the total amount paid, in the transactions of 11/16/2014 and 12/15/2014 for months 1 & 2 and the total currant balances of accounts 19, 20 and 24 shown in the General Ledger report
Rather than upload the whole General Ledger which is very long, I will write the balances the question is asking for, here they are: #19 FICA Taxes Payable OASDI - Cr ($10,904.64). #20 FICA Taxes Payable HI - Cr ($2,632.64) #24 Employees FIT Payable - Cr ($22,413.77)
Also the balances needed from the General Journal are: October FIT/FICA Taxes = $6,336.58. Nov = $6,522.38. Dec totals are in the previous paragraph from the General Ledger year end totals
And for the Payroll Report I have only included Joseph O'Neill's earnings record and the final Payroll Summary. Please let me know if you can help me with this. The final wages paid to Viginia Russel are her Gross pay was $1,425.16 and the Simple Plan total was $8,250.00. The directions state that these totals have to be substracted from Line 2 wages. I included a blank 941 but it didn't upload it with the question. I can email it or include it in a separate window? Thank you
