I love the differentiation between parameter estimation and hypothesis testing in inferential statistics. Descriptive statistics are used to summarize the sample data. Inferential statistics are used to infer from sample statistics about the population parameters.

Inferential statistics is used only in quantitative research, or possibly in mixed methods research, but not in qualitative research. do you agree and why?
