What you will be doing for the first part of the exercise is 1) considering all of the guidelines listed in the table, and then 2) taking the hypothetical situation ("A.F." is your subordinate) to 3) tell me how you would usefully empower the subordinate to engage effectively in the delegated task. The second part of the assignment deals with the process of engaging subordinates in order to correct performance deficiencies. In this segment, you are to consider the methods by which you could address a problem with the results of a task which you delegated to a subordinate. This time you will consider "Guidelines for Correcting Performance Deficiencies", and you will take the scenario that the hypothetical work that "A.F" did in the previously delegated situation is revealing itself to be unsatisfactory. What you will be doing in the second part of the exercise is explaining how to effectively handle this with the subordinate, given the guidelines suggested in the table.
