- Why do you think the public gets the impression there is an avalanche of frivolous lawsuits?
I think the public gets the impression there is an avalanche of frivolous lawsuits, because they don't really know the case or the damage people may get from small issues. people judge the case based on how it looks not based on what exactly happened. When I heard about the MacDonald's case I thought it is frivolous, but when I read about it and saw how was the damage and now I think it is not frivolous so, I shouldn't judge it from just the title.
- Do you think this perception is valid?
I don't think this perception is valid, because there are so many cases could look small but the damage is way bigger than we think. I think there are also some people are trying to take advantage of every small things that's why we need to know every case and evaluate it before we decide if it is frivolous or not. According to Julie, I. (2015). "a weak lawsuit doesn't mean it is frivolous, and frivolous can be used sometimes to describe equally baseless defenses that are sometimes asserted in defense of valid litigation".
