I need help response to my peers?

1. . Kylie said? Internal validity has to do with whether or not the independent variable influenced the dependent variable, while external validity has to do with the generalization of the research itself. By using random assignment conditions researchers are able to observe that the differences are due to manipulation of the variable rather than differences that may have already existed in the groups. Random selection is used to pull a group of people from a large population that can be representative of that population and used for other populations as well. That being said, random selection maximizes external validity. Lastly, the elimination of confounds is used for internal validity by looking at confounds that may affect the dependent variable. This also helps researchers to be more confident that any differences that are observed come from the manipulation of the independent variable, therefore elimination of confounds maximizes internal validity.
