Composition What is the specific target population? What is the plan for addressing homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group? What are the relevant demographic characteristics of the group population? What is the reason for choosing this population above other populations? What are the criteria for who will be included and excluded from the group? What are the reasons for the use of the inclusion/exclusion criteria? What is the desired group size? Why? How will people who are excluded be handled? Is the group open or closed? What is the reason for this?

Recruitment How will group members be recruited? What documents will be used in the recruitment process?

Orientation of Members How will group members be oriented? What documents will be used in the orientation process? When will orientation begin relevant to group start date? What content will be covered in orientation? What information will be included in the orientation process and why?

Contract Is the group contract written or oral? What is the reason for this choice? What number of sessions are required for the group/client? Why? What are the roles and tasks of group members? What are the roles and tasks of group facilitators? How will group decisions be made and why? What are the group rules? How will group member conduct be monitored? For what reasons might the contract be re-negotiated?

Environment What are the physical arrangements (room, space, materials, equipment, and refreshments) of where the group will be held? How will persons with disabilities access the group? How will the group be funded? Will group members pay to attend? What other special arrangements are necessary to support group success?
