I need help with magnetic moments for inorganic chemistry. I am trying to make sense of my lab I performed on magnetic moments on metal ions in substances. I determined the number of unpaired electrons. What does this tell me about its stereochemistry? Or am I supposed to be looking at a different value to compare the stereochemistry?
I have calculations for the gram magnetic susceptibility, molar magnetic susceptibility, pascal's constant, corrected magnetic susceptibility, measured magnetic moment, effective magnetic moment, number of unpaired electrons, and spin-only value. What tells me information about stereochemistry? Can you use one of my samples as the example.
