I need help with my project
Propose two examples: One should be an example of a statistical test for which you develop a confidence interval, and for the other one you would do a hypothesis test. Please explain why the data you propose to analyze best fits each kind oftest
Project Proposal
State the research question/topic you have chosen. How is this question related to your anticipated career? Provide a brief overview of your topic and why it was chosen.
Specify the population(s) that will be represented in your study.
Identify the variable(s) that you will collect, including how they will be measured. Are your variable(s) qualitative or quantitative?
Describe how you will collect the data. What is your sampling strategy? Where will you obtain the data? Will you use a survey? If so, provide a copy of the survey.
Describe how you will analyze the data.
Discuss what you expect to find from the analysis.
Submit your completed assignmentalong with your potential data set
part 2 Collect, organize, and summarize the data
Collect, organize, and summarize the data
Provide the raw data organized in a table or chart. Describe your data set.
Discuss your sampling technique and how you collected the data.
If data is collected from the internet, provide the URL.
If a survey was used, provide a copy of the survey.
Construct a frequency distribution table for the variable of interest.
Graph the frequency distribution in a frequency histogram.
Interpret the results of the frequency histogram. What is the shape of the distribution?
If the data is qualitative (categorical data) display data in a bar graph and pie chart.
Interpret the results of the bar graph and pie chart
This assignment should be formatted using APA guidelines and a minimum of 2 pages in length.
Part 3 Perform the statistical analysis and report the results of your test.
Identify the test statistics relevant to the test and determine its sampling distribution
compute the appropriate descriptive statistics (sample mean ,sample standard deviation , sampling variation, , sample proportion , sample size n, degrees of freedom) needed to calculate the test statistic
Find the value of the test statistic and then find the p-value and the critical value for a 95% confidence level
Discuss the type of hypotheses test left tailed, right tailed, or two tailed and give the critical region(s)
Interpret the test statistic using both the P value and the critical value methods
Construct a 95% confidence interval. Calculate the margin of error
This assignment should be formatted using APA guidelines and a minimum of two page in length
Summarize Results and State Conclusions
Part 1 - Summarize the results of your statistical analysis and state conclusions.
- Interpret the results in the context of your original research question.
- Do your analyses support your expected findings? Explain. Interpret p-values and discuss significance levels.
- What conclusions, if any, do you believe you can draw as a result of your study? If the results were not what you expected, what factors might explain your results?
- What did you learn from the project about the population(s) you studied? What did you learn about the research variable? What did you learn about the specific statistical test you conducted?
- Construct a PowerPoint of all work from weeks part 2 and part 3
Part 1 of this assignment should be formatted using APA guidelines and a minimum of 1 page in length.
-------this is what i have came up with on my own-- can be used as a sample maybe
We all know that sugar is bad for you, but I am interested into investigating the association of sugars in our everyday food and Mortality. I will specifically look into both of these variables:
added sugars
total fructose
added fructose
added sucrose
and when it comes to mortality I will look in to
cancers
cardiovascular disease
early mortality caused by obesity
My population for this study is adults between the ages of 18-60, both Males and Females. I will survey approximately 30,000 menand women in the metropolitan area. This will be a self-administered questionnaire that will in-turn act as my bassline study. Specifically the questionnaire will include questions on demographic (place of residence, income level, access to organic food markets), personal and family medical history, general day to day diet, and other dietary habits factors like to consumptions of deserts. I expect to find that individual who consume large amount of sugar have higher mortality rate than those who do not consume as much. I also believe that with the higher intake of sugar in diet will result in complication in health that will in-turn lead to mortality.
The survey will look something like:
