I need help with the following statistical lab assignment, specifically the questions in bold. Thank you!

The Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS) has been the de facto standard for cognitive assessments since its original introduction in 1955. The current version, WAIS-IV, was released in 2008. It has been standardized to have a mean of 100 and a standard deviation of 15. (There are subtests that report varying score components and affect interpretation, but the "bottom line" scoring most often reported is based on 100 and 15.)

Dr. Joseph Matarazzo, in his book Wechsler's Measurement and Appraisal of Adult Intelligence(1972) published the table below purporting to match Wechsler IQ scores to education level.

WAIS Mean IQ

Education Equivalent

125

Mean of persons receiving Ph.D. and M.D. degrees

115

Mean of college graduates

105

Mean of high school graduates

100

Average for total population

According to this (admittedly approximate) scale, the average IQ score of college graduates is expected to be 115. Interpret this score using a computer program such as Excel or an online calculator.

There is an online interactive z-score calculator free for use.

Follow the calculator's directions to create a graph with the shaded area under the normal curve sized to show the area associated the mean IQ score of 115 (or as close to that as the app will allow). I am uncertain and need assistance on this please - this is what I found but not sure if I am interpreting the data correctly - Does the shaded area on the graph mean that the graph plots a normal distribution with a mean of 100.00 and a standard deviation of 15.00. Raw score is 114.52 and z-score 0.97. The area under the curve is the probability of obtaining a score greater than 114.30 and less than 114.54 is approximately 0.4%.

What is the z-score and percentile ranking of the IQ score of 115?

The z-score is 0.97 and the percentile ranking of the IQ score of 115 is 0.4% - what does this mean? Am I reading the results correctly?
