I need to make a cost analysis on manufacturing of Screwdrivers. Here is the initial data needed :
Part Volume: 100,000 parts/year Material Cost: Raw material (stock will be purchased ready-to-machine at 12 USD/kg) Stock size: You must determine Labor cost: 10 USD/hour unburdened labor Equipment: You must determine a capital cost per part Energy Cost: 32.3 cent/kWh o Specific energy: 1.0 W-s/mm for aluminum alloy machining operation
Cost Sensitivity. As part of the cost optimization for the production of the part, it is also recommended that you perform sensitivity analysis for important production characteristics (sensitivity of cost to production volume, material cost, reduction or increase in staff / labor rate, and other manufacturing parameters). Assess the sensitivity by plotting the cost per product (vertical axis) vs. the variable that you are changing (horizontal axis). Put all the plots on ONE graph and label appropriately. Explain which have significant influence on cost, which has the least influence? Discuss how much control you have over the factors considered and what you would do to optimize the cost of producing the parts. Thank you, if you get the answer i will give thumbs up!
