(e.g. attempted murder, attempted robbery) Scenario - John Wilkes Booth decides to kill President Lincoln, because he thinks Lincoln is a tyrant. Booth notes in his dairy, "I have decided to kill Lincoln the day after tomorrow." Before anything further happens, Booth is arrested by the FBI.
