Attempt - A person is guilty of the crime of attempt if he/she has the specific intent to commit a crime, takes meaningful action toward the completion of that crime, but fails to complete the crime. (e.g. attempted murder, attempted robbery) Scenario - John Wilkes Booth decides to kill President Lincoln, because he thinks Lincoln is a tyrant. Booth notes in his dairy, "I have decided to kill Lincoln the day after tomorrow." Before anything further happens, Booth is arrested by the FBI. Is Booth subject to criminal liability for either murder or attempt? Defend your argument by referencing the scenario and the text of the laws
