I noticed in my workplace that sometimes affinity bias happens towards me. My manager gets along with one of our supervisors very well because he thinks they are so similar, and he believes every word he says because he is just like him, and they have a bond. I am his assistant, and I don't feel that trust and communication with him because he thinks I don't understand everything, and we don't have much in common to talk about because we are not similar and like different stuff. He favorites him a lot. He wants to give him a promotion just because they have a lot in common, and he likes him a lot even though he is not ready for that promotion. Sometimes I work more than him, but my manager thinks he is the best employee he can ever have just because they are so similar, and I am different. He does that without even knowing, and I noticed that which does not motivate to me sometimes.
