I personally have never had any personal experience with an information interview, In the lower level card course I was similarly tasked and conducted similar preparation For my career goals. I have had a good deal more classes since then and have become more concrete in my interest and skill paths so this time I plan to properly target for a future job. One such reference from that career services guild that I found to be greatly informative was "While your ultimate objective may be to find a new job, you should never ask for one at an informational interview," (Career Service Guild pg. 9, 3/10/2020.). I believe that focusing on the fact that you are not looking to get a job from this talk allows me to really dig into the finer details of the job and really get to understand all the aspects of the job a job description can't tell me.
