I wanted to know if you could do a conclusion of 2 pages based on race and incarceration in the paragraph at the bottom. Also, can you turn the conclusion into five short bullet points. After the five bullet points of the conclusion, can you turn the bullet points into five sentences? 

 

 

 

 

                                                                       Introduction

          Race is a high factor in the incarceration rates in America. African Americans get arrested and convicted at a much higher rate than Whites. "Going to prison is a complete life changing thing for anyone to go through, but no one goes through it more than African Americans." (Nellis, 2021). African Americans right now are incarcerated in state prisons at 5 times the rate than White Americans. (Nellis, 2021). There are different crimes that can get people incarcerated, but African Americans are the main people getting longer sentences no matter what the crime is. Murder, rape, kidnapping, breaking / entering, theft, robbery, drug dealing, etc,. All of these are crimes that can get people sent away to prison for a long time. Anyone who is of any race can and does commit these crimes everyday, but it is the African Americans who get punished the hardest for it. A white person can commit a crime and they either get a small sentence or no sentence at all, while a person of color commits the same crime, but they end up getting a long sentence. The criminal justice system has been stating for years that they will continue to work to make it equal for everyone, but it hasn't happened yet. African Americans are still going through the system being treated unfairly, but Americans can only hope that a change will come soon. 

           There are three different types of incarceration. There is the custodial model, rehabilitation model, and the reintegration model. The custodial model is when prisoners are a threat to society and they need to be disciplined. The rehabilitation model is used to rehabilitate offenders so that they are not a threat to society. The reintegration model is used when prisoners are released from prison and they re-enter into society. Prisoners in this model have to relearn what it's like to be back in society in the hopes that they will not recidivate and be back in prison. (National Institute of Justice). These different models are used to help prisoners while they are incarcerated so that if and when they are released, they can be better people.
