I was blown away at the attention to detail, the accessibility to resources, and the exceptional desire to assist from the entirety of the SNHU staff. I learned so much, not only about the importance of managing people within the business, but also how Human Resources ties into the rest of a business- how all of the moving parts have to work and communicate together to create a great flow. I had gone into this program with the idea that Human Resources was all about handling disputes and filing paperwork, but I realized that there is so much more involved. I hear horror stories about employees who dislike working with Human Resources, and for the briefest time I worried that maybe I had made the wrong decision by entering the program. Fortunately, I soon realized that Human Resources does not need to be considered daunting to engage with. If HR professionals are provided with the right kind of training and if they possess the right kind of mindset, Human Resources can be considered a valuable (and necessary) asset to any business. The overall material of this program really had me reconsidering what it meant to be a successful HR manager. As I said, there are many more moving parts than I initially believed there were. I had to learn how those parts worked together collectively. Without human employees, it would be exceptionally difficult to run a successful business. Employees are one of the biggest resources a company needs in order to grow and progress. Treating a company's employees with dignity and respect is the least upper management can do to show the employees how much their work matters. It really helps people develop their own senses of pride and self-worth
