I was furious when, after a month of my wife working, we got a check for about $100. Of course, no itemized list existed proving that previous customers had broken contracts, so that led to my frustrations. I did not work there, nor do I have a previous violent background, but I was definitely fighting mad. My ex wife, while she may have been many other things, was not violent either. Part of her job was, if a customer was coming in complaining about their phone/service and threatening to cancel the contract, she needed to save the situation to prevent losing a customer, and her commission from a previous month. A perfect storm situation of it being at the end of a month, you have more returns than sales, and "yet another customer trying to cancel and indirectly cost you money" could be met with violence by a salesperson who takes the entire transaction personally
