I was wondering if you could help me a word problem I am having trouble with. My university requires students to take an IT class so I decided to take an introduction to computing class for scientists. The question is as stated "The 1936 novel Gone with the Wind contains 418,053 words. Assuming that each printed word is comprised of four 8 bit ASCII characters, how many megabytes of information are contained in the novel, assuming that all the information is contained in the printed words that comprise the pages of the novel. Report your answer in base 10 and not in base 2." I know that there are 4 "bytes" in one "word." And that 1 kilobyte equals 2^10 bytes, and that 1 megabyte equals 2^10 kilobytes and 1 byte equals 8 bits. I know I have the information needed to solve the problem but I do not know where to start. Do I multiply the 418,053 words in the novel by 4 bytes to get the total number of bytes that are in the novel? And then do I divide that by megabytes? But even after doing that I would not know what to do from there or how to convert the bytes to megabytes
