I was wondering if you'd be able to help with the following example. For journal entries of accruals. Say on April 1st a company receives an invoice for 2,500 for office repairs. (repairs and maintenance). What is the journal entry for the day the invoice is received. What is the adjusting journal entry when the payment is made to the repair company. And lastly what if the invoice had the wrong date and it was realized the repairs were received during the month of march instead. What entries would be made to accrue the expense in March and get rid of the accrued expense in April. The problem should have atleast 3 journal entries.
