I WILL RATE YOU, AND COMMENT YOU!!

The company Pulpas Dominicanas, S.R.L. produces three products from unprocessed mango pulp: bottled juice, frozen juice concentrate, and gelatin. The company buys mango pulp from three farms near Loma de Cabrera, Dajabn province. Mango is harvested on the farms and immediately pulps in the mills adjacent to each farm and is stored there in refrigerated tanks. The pulp is then transported to four different processors in Mao, Navarrete, Tamboril and Moca, where bottled mango juice, frozen concentrate and gelatin are processed. Production on farms traditionally differs each month depending on the season's harvest, and processing plants have different processing capacities. In a particular month, the farm in Los Almcigos has 1,450 tons of mango pulp available, while the farm in Partido has 1,750 tons and the farm on the outskirts of Dajabn has 1,150 tons. The processing capacity per month is 1,200 tons of raw pulp at the Mao plant, 1,100 tons of pulp at the Navarrete plant, 1,400 tons at the Tamboril plant, and 1,350 tons at the Moca plant. The transportation cost per ton of raw pulp from the farms to the plants is as follows:

Plant
farm Mao Navarrete Tamboril Moca
Los almacigos $ 595.00 $ 504.00 $ 637.00 $ 525.00
Partido $ 679.00 $ 553.00 $ 735.00 $ 616.00
Dajabon $ 630.00 $ 581.00 $ 546.00 $ 574.00

The plants are of different structures, have different teams and operate with different salary rates; therefore, the cost of processing each product in each plant ($ / ton) differs, as follows:

Plant
Product Mao Navarrete Tamboril Moca
Juice $ 210.00 $ 235.00 $ 220.00 $ 190.00
Concentrate $ 410.00 $ 430.00 $ 395.00 $ 390.00
Gelatin $ 260.00 $ 230.00 $ 250.00 $ 280.00

This month, the company needs to process a total of 1,200 tons of bottled juice, 900 tons of frozen concentrate and 700 tons of gelatin at the four plants combined. However, the frozen concentrate production process results in some dehydration of the pulp (waste), and the gelatin processing includes a cooking step that evaporates some of the water content of the pulp. 2 tons of raw pulp is required to process 1 ton of frozen concentrate; 1 ton of gelatin requires 1.5 tons of raw pulp; and 1 ton of bottled juice requires 1 ton of raw pulp. Management wants to determine how many tons of mango pulp should be shipped from each of the farms to each of the plants and the number of tons of each product to process at each plant. Therefore, the administration needs a model that considers the logistical aspects of this problem and the production aspects.

A solution is desired that minimizes total costs, including the cost of transporting the mango pulp from the farms to the plants and the processing costs of all three products. Present an answer to this problem by formulating it as a linear programming model and solve it using MS-Excel Solver.
