Case Study: Online Book Advertisements and Retail Description: This project will be a website that will allow students to advertise old or new books to other students. This system should also allow a way for students to bid for books on sale. There are three main users of the site namely, students selling their books, students buying a book, and administrators of the site. Below is a description on how users interact or benefit from the site: Students selling books: Account creation, username will be their student ID. Enter details of the book they want to be sold including the price, picture and condition of the book etc. Rate the book regarding its use how helpful it was to the class. Set the parameters necessary to allow bidding if that option is selected. Student buying a book: Account creation, username will be their student ID. Search the site for books they want to buy. This person can search by ISBN, author, title, class name, course number, department or school. Will be given a list of student(s) selling the book and information on how to contact them or students can bid for the book if the seller has that option turned on. If the book is not available, they can log a request for the book in case someone does end up selling the book, they will then be notified. Administrator: Maintain the website. Run queries for the request for books that are unavailable, if a match is found a notification will be sent to the student wanting to buy the book.
