If I could change one regulation, I would like to hold industries more accountable in their actions with how they effect the environment. It's almost laughable the standards they are held to. Many punishments merely resulting in fines that can be brushed off by larger corporations. The fuel, agriculture, and food service industries are some of the biggest contributors to pollution. Granted, it is also all of our faults for being so reliant on these industries(I think society as a whole should try to be less reliant but that's not what this discussion is about) but measures should be taken to incentivize them to clean up the mess they make i.e., tax breaks. Nearly every time there is a disaster like oil spills or more everyday things like runoff from farms, there is some type of government subsidy to help clean it up. These are large, powerful corporations and should be able to clean up after themselves.
