If I were to lead a process improvement team to address a process that management believes has potential for improvement I would first need to find if a problem exists. The best way to find a problem is to work through the process from start to finish to see if the process if efficient and completing the desired task. If a problem arises during the test then the problem is found. I would then need to collect data related to the problem. The best way to collect data for process improvement is surveys from employees and equipment data. The quality tools I would use to make the improvement would be a cause and effect diagram and a check-sheet. A cause and effect diagram "examines why something happened or might happen by organizing potential causes into smaller categories" (What is a Cause and Effect Diagram, 2024). A check sheet is "used to systematically collect and organize data on a factual basis at the location where the data is generated" (Hessing, n.d). I would use these two quality tools because they are the most efficient tools for the type of data collection I need. This process improvement would overall make a more
