If I were with a friend and we saw a magic eye picture I may or may not be able to see it myself. I can usually, so assuming this time I can then I would suggest to them that they tried to look through the picture with their eyes slightly crossed. This seems to be the most reliable way for me; however, everyone's vision and perspective can be so very different, if he didn't see the hidden picture then I would have him try to use the 2 dot method that was used in the book. Keeping your eyes crossed but still able to see the dots, they should soon appear as three. Without uncrossing your eyes, try to focus on the middle dot and relax your vision just slightly and be patient. The image in the back ground should start becoming visible, although if you move your eyes, we will need to start over. They ask you how it works and why they can't seem to do it correctly. How would you explain how it's supposed to work so they could see it? If they followed your instructions and still couldn't see the image, how would you explain that?
