If viewed externally, I would categorize myself as more of a manager than an entrepreneur. Only in recent years because of my position within the military, I have served in a management role where decisions and actions need to be executed dependent on the mission. Mission-focused perimeters with quantifiable results is the type of organization I align with and effective leadership is built on decisions that have to be made instantaneously after weighing all the factors and considerations for mission success. A dichotomy exists where as a manager, I need to consider the characteristics of an entrepreneur to effect a positive and meaningful change within the workplace environment and achieve better results through elements of empowerment and free out-of-the-box solution generation. If entrepreneurial leadership elements can be more effective in a management situation, then those actions yield greater outcomes, higher efficiency, or unique solutions to common problems, then the appeal to change styles seems to offer effective results. The duality of both roles provides the ability to switch and experiment with which styles provide the desired outcomes.
