1. Review the five characteristics of emerging adulthood that are outlined in the book (p. 410).

Emerging adulthood is

1. the age of identity explorations;
2. the age of instability;
3. the self-focused age;
4. the age of feeling in-between; and
5. the age of possibilities.

2. Reflect on your own experience of early adulthood in your early twenty entering college, either currently or in the past, and describe examples from your life that demonstrate how each element is either true or does not quite fit your experience.
