If you were a parent of an 8-year-old, and you took that 8-year-old with you to work one day, and you began to tell that 8-year-old how important organizational design is to the success of your company and in the lobby, there is a large company organization chart. And as you pass the large, ornate, org chart hanging there on the wall, your 8-year-old points at the chart and asks, "Daddy/Mommy, is that what you mean by organizational design?", how would you answer that question? Is that org chart your organizational design? Why or why not?
