1. Six years ago, Anna was twice as old as Brita. Six years hence, Brita will be as old as Anna is now while Anna will be twice as old as she was 6 years ago. How old are they now?
2. A man is four times as old as his son. Three years ago, he was five times as old as his son was that time. How old is the son.
3. A man 42 years old now and his son 12. In how many years will the father be twice as old as his son.
4. Five years ago Chloe was twice as old as Danny. Seven years hence, three times Chloe's age will be four times Danny's age. How old is each now?
5. Two vehicles set out simultaneously from places 80 miles apart. They traveled toward each other and passed at the end of 1 hour and 15 minutes. The speed of a vehicle was 8 miles per hour greater than that of the other. Find the speed of each vehicle.
6. An aircraft climbed at an average speed of 300 feet per minute and descended immediately at an average speed of 25 miles per hour. The flight was completed in 25 minutes. What is the altitude did the aircraft reach?
7. A bullet is fired at a target and the sound of its impact is heard 4 seconds later. If the bullet travels at the rate of 2400 feet per second and the sound travels at the rate of 1200 feet per second, how far is the target in feet.
