I'm conducting a study about social media addiction and well-being and i have two research questions:

  • Is social media addiction associated with lower subjective well-being?
  • Do younger adults have higher social media addiction than older adults?

And I have two questionnaires:

  • General Health Questionnaire -12 (GHQ-12)
  • Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale

(Additionally, I have also a depression scale (CES-D)

My supervisior asks to run Factor analysis in my statistical analysis, do you have any suggestion how to use this factor analysis (exploratory) in my study? Which phase should I apply it?

And second question; which statistical analysis do you suggest for these research questions?

TIA!
