I'm going to analyze the stress level of college students who are neurotic and students who are extraversion during the covid-19.

1. Our predictor variable, the IV, is personality traits (neuroticism, extraversion, openness) and quantitative.
2. Our outcome variable, the DV, is stress level.

I'm trying to run a simple linear regression analysis between personality traits and stress levels. And also compare and contrast the two linear regression models with ananalysis of covariance (ANCOVA).

Question: why do I have to use two linear regression models with an ANCOVA and simple linear regression??

Please explain the reason!
