1. In paging of memory, a process has the page table below, and the page size is 512 bytes. Calculate the physical addresses corresponding to the logical addresses 520, 15 and 1034 (if this is not possible then state what must happen to create a physical address). Assume that the first address in Page 0 is 0 and the first address in Frame 0 is 0. Addresses are given in Base 10 Page Number Frame Number Which logical addresses will cause a page fault? Explain what happens when a page fault occurs. 1. The physical address corresponding to the logical address 520 is 2056 (as it is in frame 4 with offset 8) The physical address corresponding to the logical address 15 is 1039 (as it is in frame 2 with offset 15) There is no physical address corrresponding to logical address 1034 as it is in page number 2 which the page table states is not in memory. This causes a page fault, and the page must be brought into memory. The process was described in lectures All the logical addresses in page 2 will cause a page fault: these are the addresses from 1024 to 1535
