This assignment is intended to assess your ability to:

Compare and contrast an organization's environment with historical events that created the need for unions.

Describe how good employee relations today might prevent the need for continued organized labor.

If the company is non-union, identify what his or her organization does via HR to generate a climate where organized labor is not desired by employees.

So far, I have these questions ready:

Can you describe the company culture?

How would you describe the relationship between members of the management team and the employees at your organization?

If the company is non-union, what actions does the organization/company take to avoid union representation?

Are there recurring or present concerns with respect to the employees?

Would you indicate that employees are generally satisfied working at the company?

Is there any existing fear that employees may seek union representation?

If the employees are satisfied with their work and/or working conditions, what does the company do to insure that employees are content?

What tools or platforms does the company utilize to measure employee satisfaction?

What is the company's philosophy regarding employee relations?
