Imagine you are a personnel manager of a local government of your choice. One of your direct reports tells you there is a major personnel situation going on. A male employee named Jim who has been there for five years has suddenly announced he needs to use the womens restroom, as he is currently identifying as a woman. Upon hearing this, two female employees, Heather and Tiesha, are upset and feel like their rights are being violated because they do not want a male in their restroom. Jim begins to use the restroom despite upsetting his coworkers, stating his freedom to associate with the gender of his choice. Heather and Tiesha confronted him at his desk and asked if he would let them know when he is using the bathroom so they can avoid those times, as it makes them uncomfortable to be sharing the restroom with a male. A verbal dispute ensued, and Jim left the office quite upset. Jim, Heather and Tiesha have all threatened to file complaints with the EEOC. How, as the personnel manager, do you handle this situation and why? Explain your reasoning.
