MESSAGE STRATEGIES: REQUESTING A RECOMMENDATION [LO-2] Assume you have completed your educational program and have landed an interview with an employer who has asked you to supply a letter of recommendation from one of your professors or past employers. You are quite excited about the job prospect and carefully consider who to ask for the letter. Be prepared to explain why you are asking this particular person and summarize three or four of your strengths that you could include in your request. Choose a professor or employer who knows your work and who you think would be a strong reference. Make up any details you need and write the letter.
