Imagine your classmates are co-workers and the professor is the company owner. We are preparing to travel from the U.S. to Spain. We have been invited to deliver a presentation in this country to share information about our company Awesomesauce Incorporated. It's up to you to determine what we at Awesomesauce Inc. do, what are services and/or products may be so get creative and have fun with it - also don't get hung up on this part.
Tell us what we need to know about the other culture in order to deliver our presentation successfully and inclusively. Being mindful of the differences in our cultures across Hofstede's dimensions. How might the differences affect things like word choice, delivery style, etc. Dig in and use your text book and your research to identify at least 3 specific things that we will need to be mindful of as we make our presentation in this differing culture. Back your points up with information you've gathered through Part 1 of this assignment.
Time is short as we at Awesomesauce Inc. are successful and busy people! You will need to be concise with organizing and sharing your findings.
Synthesize your research findings into an email that you will share out with your Awesomesauce colleagues to prepare us for our international trip. Draw out three key differences between our cultures that we will need to know about and be mindful of when we travel to make our presentation.
Your content should be organized as follows - the idea being to learn the basic organizational structure of an outline :-):
1. Introduction -include an email greeting, the country we are visiting and the product/service we are selling as well as a preview of the key points that you will cover in the email.
2. Main body - 3 main points - include three key things about the other culture that we need to know in order to make a successful presentation about our product/service. Expand on each point to help your audience understand how they differ from our own culture, and why we need to be aware and considerate of this important factor in order to be effective in our communications. Have fun tying this in with your product or service as well.
3. Conclusion -include a recap of the points covered in the main body and a concluding thought, something that you believe your colleagues should take away. This can be a motivational, inspirational or informational. Also include a standard email closing.
