In 2010, Chris purchased a house with a large garden for himself. He was registered as a sole proprietor. Later that year, he invited his girlfriend Kellie to move in with him. In 2012 they had a child, Jack.

In 2014, Kellie, being an interior designer, decided to remodel the house and paid 50,000 to add a swimming pool to the garden. She also personally did the landscaping to the garden and around the swimming pool area. Two years later she used 15,000 to add a third room for Jack.

In 2020 Chris needed money to pay off some gambling debts and he secretly mortgaged the house to Mifflin Bank. He has recently defaulted on his mortgage repayments and the bank is now seeking possession of the house with the view to selling it. Kellie and Jack wish to continue living there.
