In 2018, airlines were required by CORSIAto develop an Emissions Monitoring Plan, which details the procedures that will be used to monitor fuel use, calculate emissions, and manage data.

CORSIA required all airlines with annual emissions greater than 10,000 tons of CO2 and flying international routes to begin on 1 Jan 2019 monitoring the emissions from all international flights and to report these annually.

• Research and express a reasoned opinion of the types of technical experts likely provided by the Donor nations to recipient nations under a Buddy Partnership for these and future stages of CORSIA.
• Determine how many such technical experts the United States committed to providing to recipient nations under its Buddy Partnerships with its recipient nations and how many it has actually provided.
• Attempt to identify a technical expert already provided by the U.S. or another Donor nation to a specific recipient nation and provide all available information on that individual's relevant background, experience, and languages spoken in addition to English.
• Endeavor to identify an airline from a recipient nation that has already completed its Emissions Monitoring Plan, one that has begun monitoring emissions from its international flights and, if you are taking this course after 2019, one that has begun reporting its annual emissions data. If possible, determine whether technical expertise from a Donor nation under a Buddy Partnership was helpful in any of these accomplishments.
