In a band, why are the instruments that play high notes straight (flute, piccolo) but the instruments that play low notes very curved (tuba, sousaphone)?

What unique feature all Grandfather clocks have? What purpose does it serve? If it is running fast or slow, how do you adjust it? A six string guitar can play as many as 47 different notes, A piano has 88 different strings, but only plays 88 different notes. Why? Why are there some places in the world that experience extreme differences in tides?
