In a certain chemical process, it is vely important that a particular solution that is to be used as a reactant have a pH of exactly 8.20. A method for determining pH that is available for solutions of this type is known to give measurements that are normally distributed with mean equal to the actual pH and with a standard deviation of 0.03. Suppose 36 independent measurements yielded a sample mean pH of 8.19. 1) Design a test to determine if the pH is less than 8.20 at signicance level 0.05. (Make sure you specify H4], H1, explain parameter p, and then calculate test statistic and give the rejection region, at last state nal conclusion in the context.) 2) Ifthe true pH is 8.18, please compute the power of the above test. Note that power=1 ,8 , where t is the probability of Type 11 error
