In a clearly organized and formatted memo report, evaluatethree websites that you might use for the upcoming International Business Communications Research assignment. You may NOT use Wikipedia.
ForEACH website, apply the four criteria (Currency; Authority; Content; Accuracy) listed in "The Internet and Credibility" on pp. 238-239 by answering the specific questions for each criterion. Then, based on your answers to the questions, for each site, provide 2-3 sentences that briefly analyze/explain why you would or would not consider using the site.
Currency. What is the date of the Web page? If the page you're looking at doesn't include date information for its content, the site is probably not reliable.
Authority. Who publishes or sponsors this Web page? Is information about the author or sponsoring organization available on the About Us page? Can the author be contacted? Be skeptical about data and assertions from individuals and organizations whose credentials are not verifiable. Content. Is the purpose of the page to entertain, inform, convince, or sell? Is the purpose readily apparent? Who is the intended audience, based on content, tone, and style? Evaluate the overall value of the content and see how it compares with other resources on this topic. Accuracy. Do the facts that are presented seem reliable? Do you find errors in spelling, grammar, or usage? Do you see any evidence of bias? Are references provided? Do the external links work? Errors and missing references should alert you that the data may be questionable."
