In a clinical environment respiration signal is normally extracted from the ECG
recording using digital signal processing techniques. An ECG signal segment is
shown in Figure 1.
In this project, you have an attached ECG signal ECGData.mat. You
are required to upload your signal to Matlab and implement the following
functionalities:
A. Detect the QRS complex of the ECG signal
B. Calculate the heart rate of the signal
C. Calculate the respiration rate
D. Calculate the heart rate variability (optional)
In this project you need to design a DSP system in Matlab that correctly detects
the required above parameters. For this you need to create a function in Matlab
QRSDetector that will detect the QRS complex of the ECG waveform. The input to
the function is ECGData signal that may include several ECG cycles. The provided
ECG data is sampled at 500 Hz.
