Indeed, the US is ranked below most of the western European countries, and even some development countries like Chile, Costa Rica, Uruguay, etc. Please pay attention to the difference between free speech, freedom and liberty versus democracy. As for free speech, etc. I think we should be ranked the firstin the world.

Given the recent event that the president & senate will nominate a new judge to replace judge Ruth Bader GinsburgRIP. While the debate is whether the senate should confirm during election or not, the main debate should be why not the people directlyselect the members of the supreme court; most importantly, why the judge stays in office till death, why not to be replaced every 4-8 years or make 2 terms?

What is happening with our democracy? why we land the 25th spot? can we improve our democracy? and how? does the democracy quality influenceeconomicgrowth? recall china is the largest economy and have only one party, thecommunistparty.Should we, say every 100 years, rewrite the constitution? Is the constitution outdated and/or dysfunctional or our politicians turn this great peace to be not functional, i mean the difference between theory and practice can be wide sometimes.Of course, I love our country and value the great work by our founding fathers, but we need to get better and we need to have many voices in the senate, house, etc. not binary voices. Why senators have unlimited terms? why the federal reserve chairman is appointed by the president, not something like economiccounsel?
