In Australian/Victorian defamation law, if the original publisher's defamatory matter is republished by another individual - say to a message/discussion board - does the original publisher retain their liability in the communication of defamatory material? As the republished material is obviously defamatory, and seems to be based off the original publisher's statements, is the original publisher still liable?
