In class we discussed the "Selfish Herd" strategy that causes animals to appear to be engaging in dynamic "flocking" behaviors. Consider Selfish Herd from a game theory perspective, with two strategies, "Herd" and "Loner". Herd players always pay a cost of competition (c) but Loners never do (because they maximize their distance to their nearest neighbor). Everybody also suffers predation at some rate (p) EXCEPT when two Herd players encounter each other
