In conclusion, the case of Robinson v Chief Constable of West Yorkshire [2018] was a vital case in the development of the duty of care in the law of negligence. It provided the opportunity for the courts to mould the Tripartite test, so it can be applied to all negligence claims. Robinson also provided development to occur regarding public authority and the duty of care. it provides the distinction of operational duties to be applied to cases, thus allowing the immunity of police to be condensed. Robinson drew on judgements of past cases and interpreted them in a manner which is to suit the modern law of negligence
