In healthcare finance, is revenue considered the charges for the visits and services or is it the payments received for those visits and services?
I was under the impression that it was gross charges minus the contractual allowances (what I'm expecting to receive), but I'm now being told that revenue is actually reimbursement/payments that we have already received fir thise services, which I understood to be income. Can you please clarify?
