In Hospitality Law, Occupiers' Liability is field of tort law that concerns the duty of care owed by those who have control over a premise (through ownership or lease), to people who visit or trespass. The liability may arise from accidents caused by the dangerous condition of the premises, but the degree of liability may vary depending on who is the visitor or the premise.

Tort Law classifies 3 categories: invitees, licensees and trespassers.

Based on the differences among these 3 categories and the following scenarios:

- determine if each of the following situations could have a case in a Court of Law.

- provide a short reason for your decision.

a) A burglar breaks into your Guesthouse. While crossing the living room, he trips over a rug. He falls and breaks his leg.

b) A friend is invited to a dinner party at your home. He slips and falls, injuring his knee on your newly waxed floor.

c) A person breaks into your restaurant to steal some food. He gets electrocuted by the electrified system you installed and hid behind the entrance.
