IN LADDER LOGIC

Samantha Thyme has decided that she wants to use her new PLC to create a security system for her room. Armed with the following hardware Sam will create a system that will watch various sensors and sound an alarm when triggered. Luckily her arch nemesis Peter Zahh is out of town until Tuesday Feb. 14, so she has time to develop the hardware and software before his return. Her list of supplies are,

A PLC she learned about in ECET 290

An optical or inductive sensor will be used to detect when the door is closed. If the inductive sensor is on the door is closed. If the photo sensor is on the door is open.

A NO switch will be mounted to the window (Pete can be tricky.) When the window is closed the switch will be active, an open switch means the window is open.

There are two momentary push buttons. A green one will activate the system. A red one will deactivate the system.

A buzzer will be used to warn the occupant when the system is active and the window and/or door has been opened.
