In my opinion, communication is the most crucial component of change management. Without it, nothing about the project, including goals, deadlines, tasks, risks, and modifications, can be completed. As an illustration, during my research, I could have distributed a printed survey to all associates, but that would have prevented me from learning about other concerns they may have had, from witnessing their enthusiasm for changes, and from understanding why they selected the responses they did, let alone what lengths they would go to in order to get this project approved. This would have provided me with a deeper understanding of my initial goal and allowed me to add other changes that would strengthen my argument. Speaking with associates verbally also gave me more secure information as I was able to ask for clarification or to explain further.
