In my own experience, I feel that my previous manager used transformational leadership. She was very supportive and encouraging and pushed the social work team to always reach for their highest goals. While she was our manager, two of us completed management skill training and we also became case management certified. She pushed me many times to register for this certification and encouraged me to study and take the exam. Within the work setting, when there was a situation, we were not comfortable with, she would put us in that situation and push us to work through it and become better at these situations. Through this leadership, I have grown and learned many new experiences. I feel more of a competent social worker. The biggest thing I took from this was I can try new things and I can overcome things if I try. I push myself more and work towards my goals. She could be a reason why I started this doctorate journey. I can't relate to authentic leadership, as I don't feel that I have encountered a leader that provided this type of oversight
